Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position	The Department of English is seeking a pool of candidates for temporary Adjunct Faculty positions for the 2025-2026 academic year. Candidates should be able to teach Introduction to Academic Writing, Writing in a Digital World, or Thinking and Writing Critically About Literature. Additionally, candidates must be willing to hold office hours and adhere to departmental and university policies.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit	The Department of English offers an undergraduate degree in English and minor programs in dramatic arts and African American literature. Our innovative academic programs prepare students to assume leading roles in society, industry, and the academy.

Requirements and Preferences

Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies	No
Minimum Experience/Education	Master's Degree or higher with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English from a four-year regionally accredited institution. One or more years of experience teaching writing to undergraduate students in face-to-face environments
Normal Work Schedule	Morning, afternoon and evenings. Varies depending on the departmental needs.
Department Required Skills	The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to a liberal arts education in a diverse educational environment.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education	Ph.D. in English or a related field (such as composition studies or linguistics) from a four-year regionally accredited institution. Three or more years of experience teaching writing to undergraduate students in face-to-face environments.
