Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual for a part-time janitorial position in Roanoke, VA. This role involves manual labor related to the daily cleaning and maintenance of buildings. The ideal candidate will work under direct supervision and perform a variety of cleaning tasks requiring moderate physical strength, including lifting up to 25 pounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness in public areas
Perform basic floor care: dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping
Spray-buff floors, occasionally using power equipment
Vacuum and spot-clean rugs and carpets
Clean and sanitize restroom fixtures
Restock restroom supplies (towels, soap, etc.)
Dust and clean walls, doors, blinds, windows, and woodwork
Polish furniture and fixtures
Clean elevators and stairwells
Maintain cleanliness around the building exterior; sweep and remove outdoor debris
Empty interior and exterior trash and recycling containers
Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of work
Accountabilities:
Timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
Positive and cooperative interaction with coworkers
Compliance with contract specifications, company policies, and health and safety regulations
Reliable and punctual attendance
Work Conditions:
Physical Requirements:
This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing stairs. Employees may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Visual requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception and focus adjustment.
Environmental Conditions:
Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors and involves exposure to prevailing weather conditions.
Noise Level:
Typically moderate.
