The Manager, IT Business Financial & Research Systems leads a medium-sized team or multiple small teams within the Information Technology department. This role oversees application and technical operations, staff development, system performance, and cross-departmental support services. The Manager, IT Business Financial & Research Systems serves as an escalation point for complex issues and drives continuous improvement, service excellence, and delivery consistency across their domain. The Manager, IT Business Financial & Research Systems partners with Finance leadership and executive stakeholders to translate institutional priorities into actionable technology plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees planning, delivery, and support of multiple financial business systems (ERP, Oracle, Strata, etc.).
  • Leads architecture discussions and ensures best practices in configuration, reporting, and integration.
  • Leads stakeholder alignment sessions, project presentations, and status briefings.
  • Provides executive-level updates on system performance, roadmap milestones, and budget adherence.
  • Leads integrations across Finance, HR, Research, and Operational applications.
  • Defines enterprise reporting standards and ensures consistency in KPI delivery.
  • Oversees hiring, onboarding, and development of team members and team leads.
  • Manages third-party contracts, vendor relationships, and SLA compliance.
  • Supports budget planning, monitors expenditures, and justifies investment requests.
  • Provides technical leadership and strategic direction for assigned application or system portfolio.
  • Oversees hiring, onboarding, training, and development of staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, recommends promotions, and manages disciplinary actions in accordance with HR policies.
  • Serves as escalation point for complex technical or operational issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in the field of Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field is required
  • Masters degree is preferred

Expereince

  • 8-10 Years of progressive experience in financial systems administration with at least 2 years of people management is required
  • Leadership experience in enterprise-scale ERP initiatives within a healthcare, academic, or research setting is preferred

Certifications

  • Certifications in an ERP, ITIL, PMP, or equivalent leadership-level system certifications are a plus is preferred
