Zayo is seeking an OSP Manager - Atlanta GA who will be primarily responsible for providing the end-to-end support, planning and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions for Zayo projects within the Atlanta GA area. The OSP (Outside Plant) Manager manages customer orders and coordinates installations, serving as a single point of contact for customers both internal and external. They provide direction and project ownership by leading the implementation, execution and communication of projects. The OSP Manager provides oversight of local break fix teams and on call rotational escalation support. The OSP Manager also provides management, assistance, training and support to other OSP team members. *We're open to our OSP Manager working in a hybrid capacity (3 days in office/2 days from home) in the Atlanta, GA area. The position is primarily responsible for providing the end-to-end support, planning and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions for the Zayo Break-Fix Teams within the Southeast Region. The OSP (Outside Plant) Manager will manage the on-call teams, outage vendors, and serve as a single point of contact for both internal and external TTN escalations. They will provide direction and project ownership by leading the implementation, execution and communication of ER TTNS. They will provide oversight of local break fix teams and on call rotational escalation support. The OSP Manager will be required to provide management, assistance, training and support to other OSP team members.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily management and supervision of the break fix teams to expedite ER TTNs andNTUs.
- Provide management support andtraining to OSP and junior OSP team members.
- Manage relationships of Local Authorities, 3rd parties and ROW contacts, having a close working relationship ER Vendors.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of fiber solutions programs and projects that adhere to approved plans, budgets and schedules.
- Provide specialized telecommunications technical expertise to support telecom construction methods and optical cable installation both externally and within a data center environment.
- Provide direct interface with customers, subcontractors, local authorities and Zayo personnel.
- Support customer meetings asnecessary.
- Oversee procurement of equipment and materials.
- Execute Bid Process support, inclusive of fiber networks, infrastructure, backbone design and budgetary requirements.
- Verify and update project documentation to manage project delivery, risk, budgets and internal/external communication.
- Provide on-call support to respond to and troubleshoot network outages and emergency restoration activities.
- Timely tracking of project progress and budgets in Salesforce and within other manual trackers.
- Develop, mentor, and train the Break Fix Teams.
- Seek to improve processes and procedures with the goal of delivering the highest level of service to our customers.
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for the day-to-day operations for the Break Fix Team.
- Promote a strong culture committed to service quality through the successful execution of repeatable, well-designed processes.
- Monitor the status of alarms, alerts, Salesforce tickets, and processes to ensure daily dispatches and repairs are being completed timely.
- Communicate policy and procedural changes to direct reports.
- Make recommendations for changes and improvements and communicate them to Regional Leadership Teams.
- Generate reports for the Regional Leadership in regards to service availability, MTTR, overall customer and network volumes.
- Oversee and manage special projects as needed.
- Maintain center objectives as assigned by Regional management team.
- Ensure continual process improvement within the Break-Fix, including but not limited to, automation of PM tasks and reporting, initiatives, and routine administrative tasks.
- Maintain communication with NCC teams and NCC Leadership during outages until issues are resolved.
- Develop and drive improvements to processes and procedures utilizing root cause analysis.
- Identify and interview candidate(s) for the Break Fix team, when needed.
- Ensure that Break Fix PMs are working network and customer outages as efficiently and effectively as possible to meet customer and Zayo OSP expectations.
- Daily review of the Break Fix teams shift hand-off report to ensure that
dispatches, tasks, and maintenance projects are consistently completed on time. - Assist with administering performance reviews.
- OSP Manager is required to be on call and/or work various shifts (such as weekends and/or evenings.)
- Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in written communication.
- Must have experience as a team leader or supervisor.
- Extensive knowledge of the following signal flow and DWDM and SONET telecommunication practices and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors' Degree preferred in construction, telecommunication or electrical engineering. Other qualifications or relevant experience working in a similar role within a telecommunication/utility environment will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years required within the telecommunications industry working with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication networks, optical transport equipment and project management experience.
- Must have working knowledge of Data Centre and Colocations environments.
- Must have 5 years familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
- Familiarity with all facets of OSP management, including quotations, construction, RAMS and delivery.
- Must be able to understand and read construction documents and optical test specification/results.
- Must be able to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design / construction schedules and responses.
- A requirement for being business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus with proven negotiation skills.
- Full ability and willingness to support on call / out of hours duties with some overnight travel where required as dictated by the needs of the business.
- Planning & Organizing: Proven ability to establish a course of action, acquire resources and deploy them effectively.
- Time Management: Proven ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment and ensure effective delivery of priorities to meet targets and objectives.
- Responsibility: Proven ability to work without direct supervision and to solve problems using own initiative.
- Communication: Proven ability to provide effective and timely communication to customers and project teams. Proven ability to impart information clearly and concisely by verbal and/or presentation/reports.
- Cooperation & negotiation: Proven ability to work effectively with others in order to meet project objectives.
- Familiarity with Email, MS Excel & Word, Google Docs, Google Earth and AutoCad. Experience with Salesforce would be a distinct advantage.
- Proficient in Reading OTDR, RAW Trace Reports, and Fast Reporter.
Estimated Base Salary Range: $81,200 - $116,000 USD/annually. #LI-AF1 The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
