The IT Technician I assists the IT Administrator and IT Technician II in the maintenance and operation of all NOVA Parks' computers, networks, peripheral equipment, software packages, and point of sales equipment. Work is performed under the direction of the IT Administrator. Hiring Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (with illustrative examples of work)
Assist in maintenance of computer operations:
- Assist in troubleshooting problems related to PC's, network and other system hardware and software via multiple support channels such as phone, email, remote, or on-site visits and update online support ticket system.
- Assist with point of sales system support related problems.
- Assist in installing, configuring, upgrading, and moving PC, network/telecommunications systems, ethernet cabling, and components.
- Assist in installing, operating, and maintaining software programs.
- Assist in inventory control of computer equipment and supplies; disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Diagnose, track, resolve, and document all issues and requests utilizing NOVA Parks Support Ticket System
- Perform basic user account maintenance in a domain network environment such as password resets, email setup, and archiving.
- Perform computer virus scans using appropriate software.
- Maintain current working knowledge of hardware and software applications in use at NOVA Parks.
- Provide computer system advice and support to all NOVA Parks employees.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Maintain other systems and equipment:
- Provide first level support to the NOVA Parks point of sales system, Active Network. This includes the support of all POS hardware and software related incidents relevant to Active Network.
- Assist in the installation of UKG time keeping system hardware to include time clocks to all facilities and provide repair/replacement services as needed.
- Assist in the operation, and maintenance of various headquarters equipment to include network appliances, copiers, and automated mail machine.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum) Education: Graduation from High School or equivalent GED. Certifications and/or some Information Technology college courses a plus. Physical: Non-manual and manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in an office and outdoor setting; will lift and move items and equipment up to 50 pounds; climb ladders; and use hand tools. Experience: At least one year of general experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting personal computers, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides:
- Some knowledge of personal computers, printers, peripheral devices, switches, wireless access points, and routers.
- Working knowledge of personal computer software and systems including Windows 11, Office 365, LAN/WAN. Knowledge of Windows Server 2019, MS 365 Admin Center and various network equipment such as network firewalls, e-mail spam firewalls, and backup devices a plus.
- Technician must possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office software and tools.
- Skill in troubleshooting a variety of computer and network problems including hardware and software.
- Ability to detect, diagnose, and take corrective actions in the event of program or machine malfunction.
- Knowledge of the operation and use of telephone systems, security systems, and other office machines and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to make informed decisions.
- Ability to maintain records and documentation.
- Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Availability for call in emergency situations.
- Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times including shift work and weekends.
