Description: FMI Aerostructures is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in the aerostructures industry. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for the machining of aluminum and titanium structures. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role. Who is FMI? Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Design and develop manufacturing processes specific to aerospace components and systems. - Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of aerospace products. - Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues. - Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures. - Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. - Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. - Coordinate with quality assurance team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Evaluate and select machinery, tools, and equipment for production processes. - Provide technical support and training to production staff regarding new processes and equipment. - Analyze data to identify trends and areas for process improvement. - Work with cross-functional teams to support product development and innovation. Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry. - Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD). - Strong understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes. - Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as AS9100 and ISO 9001. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent project management and organizational abilities. - Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance techniques. - Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management standards in aerospace manufacturing. - This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
