AMSOIL INC., a global leader in synthetic lubricants, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Superior, WI. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of human resources duties, with a primary focus on administering employee benefits programs. This role involves managing benefits administration, handling employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, playing a key role in supporting our HR initiatives and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Core Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:

* Manage and administer all employee benefit programs including 401(k), health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability and other voluntary benefits to ensure timely and accurate delivery of benefits.
* Strive to ensure employee understanding of benefits programs by conducting benefit orientations with new employees and by regularly generating communication and benefit tools.
* Coordinate full lifecycle of benefits processing. Enroll all new employees in benefits, administer any changes throughout the year, oversee and manage open-enrollments and terminate benefits and complete COBRA information upon employee departure from the company.
* Answer employee benefits questions, resolve problems, process forms, changes, termination of coverages and special requests.
* Reconcile monthly benefit invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
* Manage and administer STD/LTD and FMLA requests.
* Serve as primary contact for benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators and as primary contact for employees with changes and/or questions.
* Partner with HR Director to develop and maintain competitive benefit programs.

Employee Relations, Policies and Compliance:
* Act as a main point of contact between HR and designated business units.
* Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations.
* Coach and counsel managers and employees on performance issues and interpersonal skills development.
* Collaborate with managers on annual performance appraisals and merit increase processes.
* Assist in performance improvement plans for high-potential and underperforming employees.
* Support talent acquisition and onboarding processes in collaboration with the HR team.
* Conduct exit interviews to identify systemic issues and develop corrective action plans.
* Respond promptly to employee inquiries.
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations and HR best practices.
* Provide coaching to managers on employee relations, policy interpretation, and talent management.
* Assist in developing staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify and develop talent within the company for retention and succession needs.

Support of HR Department Initiatives:
* Coordinate projects aligned with the HR strategic plan.
* Identify areas for process improvement within the organization.
* Complete special projects as assigned, providing insights into workforce planning and succession planning.
Position Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study, preferred.
* 3+ years' experience with benefit administration, compliance and reporting.
* Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
* Excellent knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
* Proven experience in employee relations, HR consulting, or a similar role.
* Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and professionally, in person, in writing and over the phone with employees at all levels.
* High ethical standards and integrity, ability to use discretion and deal sensitively with confidential information.
* Proven ability to prioritize many tasks and deadlines effectively, manage time and complete tasks / projects with a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
* Must be organized with a strong and acute attention to detail.
* Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR preferred.

  • Pay Type - Salary
  • Pay Range - $67,500 to 79,400
