Position Summary: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for expanding Coperion's market share related to service products within the specified regions/accounts. Success will be measured through customer satisfaction and achievement of predefined sales targets. This role plays a key part in strengthening customer relationships, identifying new sales opportunities, and ensuring the company's service offerings meet evolving customer needs. ***Must be able/willing to travel frequently within the US 30%+*** Work You'll Do: Sales:
Meet and exceed annual sales and margin targets for assigned regions and accounts. Develop strategic plans to maximize sales of service products, including spare parts, upgrades, long-term maintenance, field service, process consulting, refurbishment, and modernization. Collaborate closely with customers to identify their needs, prepare and review quotations, and follow up according to departmental guidelines. Monitor the status of all open sales orders, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Maintain regular communication with accounts, managing field service issues, upgrades, and expansion opportunities. Work with the team to improve the quality of standard service quotations and corresponding communications. Monitor market activity, customer feedback, and competitor activity-documenting insights to inform strategic actions. Develop and execute strategies to regain lost market share in assigned accounts.
Service:
Coordinate with sales, engineering, process, and field service teams to align solutions with customer needs, providing a consistent point of contact. Assume responsibility for each piece of equipment within your assigned area, ensuring ongoing support and optimal performance. Maintain accurate data regarding the status of all equipment at customer locations. Continuously work to improve the overall service level and customer experience for assigned accounts. Travel approximately 30% or as needed to visit customers, support installations, and conduct service activities.
Team:
You will be a key member of the Performance Materials Business Unit at Coperion. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including sales, service, engineering, and production, your role will drive customer satisfaction, strengthen market positioning, and foster long-term relationships that support Coperion's global process solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
College degree (Associate or Bachelor's). 5+ years of experience in engineering, service, or sales within related industrial equipment or process industries. Ability to interpret engineering reports, technical documentation, and operating manuals. Skilled in developing clear, concise correspondence-including service agreements, proposals, and technical studies. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP, QAD, or similar ERP systems is a plus. Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities. Ability to work independently, develop customer relationships, and perform market research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree preferred. Proven experience in industrial or process equipment sales, service, or engineering support. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize effectively.
