We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to support our Enterprise Account Origination teams. This role is focused on building infrastructure and engineering micro applications that serve as abstraction layers across multiple lending origination and deposit systems. The ideal candidate will have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and will work within a Scrum team that collaborates with various cross-functional groups across the company. Proficiency in Scrum processes is essential, along with experience in modern service-based architecture and API development using Google Cloud Platform. The candidate should be capable of contributing across all phases of the development lifecycle, including concept, technical design, prototyping, coding, testing, QA release, and implementation. Additional experience in infrastructure development is highly desirable. This position will work closely with senior management to ensure that daily engineering efforts and team direction align with the company's strategic vision. The team operates within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), fostering a highly agile and collaborative environment that emphasizes employee growth. This is a remote position within the United States, with occasional travel (up to 5%) for company meetings, training, or professional conferences.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Conducts & may lead the product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.
  • Conducts & may lead system analysis and programming activities which may require research and timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production.
  • Conducts & may lead technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.
  • Conducts & may lead the testing and review of applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Uses best practices and standard guidance to create and modify code. Considers how code changes will affect end users and internal teams. Reviews code created by less experienced team members.
  • Works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. Leads complex decisions, present options and advocate for optimal solutions.
  • Works with cross functional teams as projects dictate.
  • Performs critical tasks and deliverables. Sets and updates expectations on size, scope, and timelines.
  • Leads team in cross-functional meetings and discussions.
  • Creates and reviews required technical documentation.
  • Maintains latest industry knowledge, practices, and development in the software technology field. Shares knowledge and expertise with the team.
  • Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in, and may influence, the definition and documentation of standards.
  • Leads unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of developed software. Debug and troubleshoot issues as they arise, providing timely resolutions.
  • May contribute to product architecture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • Minimum of 9 years of technical experience in software development, including experience development of RESTful APIs in Golang.
  • Must have experience developing cloud native applications (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with all the following: continuous integration pipelines, observability, monitoring, using Docker, Kubernetes or microservices architecture.
  • What would be nice for you to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in software development, or a related field,
  • Certification in GCP
  • Observability: Datadog, Honeycomb or any open telemetry.
  • Authentication methodology utilizing Vault in code
  • Micro service databases Database(s) and database migrations
  • Continuous integration and delivery tools for Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of publish-subscribe pattern as well as API gateways
