As the Sr. Manager - Global NPD & Category Execution, you will be responsible for the development and management of New Product Development sourcing activities including global governance, policy and processes needed to drive maximum value for the organization under a variety of business arrangements, product lines, and across all regions and business units. This role will support Tennant's Sourced Products by supporting development and management of strategic relationships with partner organizations to source products/services that complement our existing global portfolio of products. You will also be responsible for Global Category Execution including strengthening sourcing execution frameworks to drive out cost and reduce risk with an enhanced focus on Delta results.

Responsibilities




  • Assist and/or lead in the development and organization of global tools, processes, and programs to serve the needs of the business globally as it relates to sourcing partnerships and new product development.
  • Own GSS NPD process including business process improvement and NPD Sourcing Checklist in each phase.
  • Manage, lead and develop NPD Sourcing and Category Execution Teams to ensure business objectives are met including delivery of phase gate expectations in the NPD process.
  • Lead new partner exploration efforts including, RFx activities, company assessments, commercial alignment discussions, and market analysis.
  • Align with Global Strategic Supply function to develop and adhere to Category Strategies and Approved Supplier List.
  • Ensure strategic fit with both new and existing partners across all business units.
  • Develop a scalable model for driving maximum value in a variety of environments including contract manufacturing, private labeling, sourcing completed products, joint ventures, and other business arrangements.
  • Develop, negotiate, and deliver complex contracts to serve the needs of the business including considerations for future product growth aspirations including capacity, cost, and other key commercial terms.
  • Manage post-integration activities including but not limited to, partner onboarding, lifecycle management, pipeline management, and P&C strategy.
  • Implementation of strategic sourcing projects including cost out efforts and risk mitigation projects.
  • Collaboration with key functional stakeholders including Category Management, Engineering, Materials, Finance, etc. to meet or exceed organizational cost targets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key organizational stakeholders across all global regions.
  • Effectively communicate upward in the organization for reporting on key performance indicators and for escalation purposes.
  • Support M&A procurement activities as requested.



Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree with MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading and developing teams.
  • Experience with developing and negotiating complex contracts.
  • Strong understanding of and experience with strategic sourcing, cultural differences, and market dynamics in different regions.
  • Microsoft Office experience - including strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience.
  • Demonstrated success initiating change and ability to influence at all levels and successfully navigating ambiguity.


Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $120,200 Salary Min - 186,000 Salary Max

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
