All we need is you. The opportunity The SNHU Makerspace is looking for a dependable, creative, and experienced student to serve as a Makerspace Assistant Supervisor! In this leadership role, you'll support students, faculty, and staff in bringing their ideas to life using our 3D printers, laser engravers, Cricut machines, and more-while also overseeing day-to-day operations and mentoring fellow student workers. You'll develop advanced skills in technology, leadership, and team management, and help ensure the Makerspace remains a safe, inclusive, and productive environment. Responsibilities:
- Support users with 3D printing, laser engraving, Cricut, and other Makerspace tools/equipment.
- Oversee daily operations and assist in opening/closing the Makerspace.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to Makerspace Assistants.
- Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting and questions during shifts.
- Help coordinate and lead special projects and events (ex: workshops, class visits).
- Ensure the space remains safe, clean, and welcoming by reinforcing rules and policies.
- Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance, and reporting any issues to staff.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture.
Who We're Looking For:
- Experienced Makerspace Assistants or students with strong leadership potential.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Comfortable giving presentations and leading teams or group activities.
- Able to work independently, delegate tasks, and support team collaboration.
- Confident teaching and mentoring others with varying levels of technical experience.
- Bonus if you have experience with 3D printing, Adobe Creative Suite, or other maker tools.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
- Must have Work Study as part of your financial aid package.
- Students with work study may be prioritized
- Prior experience as a Makerspace Assistant required.
