You'll work directly with a leader focused on enhancing internal and external processes and supporting strategic initiatives. You'll have valuable insight and visibility into our technology enablement team, observing how they collaborate with our broader tech enterprise processes to drive efficiency and innovation across the organization.

About the Team:

The Technology Innovation Strategy Office (TISO) is an enabling team focused on driving innovation, improving software quality, and fostering a culture of excellence within WEX Technology. TISO achieves this by investing in talent development, leveraging data-driven insights, aligning technology with business goals, optimizing development processes, and building a strong technology brand. TISO team members will range in expertise from traditional project management skills to those demanded by flow engineering.

You will collaborate closely with the Head of COE Operations for the TISO team along with the executive leadership team (ELT) and senior leadership members.

Key Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team's success by:

  • Assisting with Daily Operations: Support and observe work management ceremonies for the TISO leadership team, gaining insight into agile practices.

  • Enhancing Tooling & Workflows: Contribute to Jira tooling hygiene and assist in analyzing workflows and delivery for the TISO team.

  • Facilitating Collaboration: Participate in problem-solving sessions designed to boost team productivity and effectiveness.

  • Cultivating Team Culture: Help create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment by assisting with team events and cultural initiatives, including potentially organizing our next team onsite event.

  • Supporting Strategic Communication: Learn to proactively communicate relevant information to stakeholders, helping to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

  • Exploring Innovation: If interested, research and identify ways the leadership team can leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Jira to enhance efficiency and insights.

  • Developing Presentation Skills: Support the creation of executive materials and presentations for the organization.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Communications, Information Technology, Organizational Development, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in process improvement, team collaboration, and technology.

  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace tools, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Located within the greater-Portland, Maine area preferred.

  • Familiarity with work management tools such as Atlassian Jira for issue tracking and project management, and Confluence for knowledge sharing and documentation.

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.

  • Understanding of key product management principles, including those outlined in Marty Cagan's Product Operating Model.

  • A technical background or strong interest in technology, given the collaboration with product owners and development teams.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
