Title: Purchasing Intern

Department: Purchasing

Reports To: Purchasing Manager and/or Assigned Mentor

Responsibilites:



  • Assist Purchasing Agents with prequalification of Subcontractors using TradeTapp, a risk management and compliance software. This includes reviewing financial statements, analyzing risk factors, and contacting references to verify past performance and reliability.
  • Assist Purchasing Agents with the preparation and compilation of subcontracts and service agreements, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete and aligned with project requirements.
  • Assist Purchasing Agents with contacting bidders to confirm their bidding status, answering scope questions, scheduling scope review meetings, and following up for bid updates to ensure adequate trade coverage and timely bid submissions.
  • Assist Purchasing Agents with reviewing drawings/specifications, developing scope sheets, and leveling bids.
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings between Subcontractors, Purchasing Agents, and the Operations teams.
  • Attend Subcontractor "Meet & Greet" sessions alongside Purchasing Agents. Take detailed notes during these meetings to capture key insights, relationship-building opportunities, and action items.


This position requires someone who is a self-starter, asks pertinent questions, and is detailed oriented.

Minimum Requirements



  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate College or University with a sophmore or higher status.
  • Must be a construction management, engineering or related major.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work as a team member and manage competing priorities in fast paced environment
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM.
