DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for the calibration, standardization, and verification of testing equipment and instruments to ensure they operate correctly and efficiently. This includes conducting routine maintenance, performing repairs, and recalibrating devices as necessary to uphold their functionality. A critical component of your responsibilities will involve meticulously maintaining accurate and detailed records pertaining to equipment calibrations, standardizations, and any repairs conducted on the equipment. This documentation is essential for tracking performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and facilitating future maintenance activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Materials Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic or similar construction projects and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic or similar construction projects, and an Associate's Degree in engineering or in a closely related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
