STV's is seeking aWater/Wastewater Project Managerfor our Water Practice Group. You'll contribute immediately to Water and Wastewater (W/WW) project development and execution as part of a rapidly growing practice area within STV. Projects involve a wide range of types, sizes, clients. The office location will be with key water staff members and can be in New York City, White Plains, NY, Lawrenceville, NJ, or Philadelphia, PA.

As a Project Manager, you'll perform engineering design and provide design oversight, quality control, project management, client development, and proposal preparation for water, stormwater, wastewater, pumping, and conveyance infrastructure. You'll have a strong understanding of principles and practical application of hydraulics, pipeline mechanics and materials, pumping systems, and operation and control. You'll be responsible for performing all aspects of water facility planning, design and engineering services during construction. In this position, you'll work under the direction of our Regional Water Group Manager and interface with other project managers and client service managers. You'll have knowledge of treatment unit process and will work closely with the Firm's subject matter experts across all areas of water and wastewater facilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivering large and/or multiple projects on time, within budget and in conformance with the contract requirements.
  • Providing effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
  • Assist in the execution of existing projects and assist in the development of new work pursuits.
  • Functions as a team lead for projects including acting as the liaison to internal departments as needed: plan, organize and direct design staff.
  • Execution of project designs and oversight of construction services.
  • Interface with the client to fully understand their needs and ensure expectations are identified and carried out.
  • Participates in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the company's goals.
  • Assess project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client.
  • Ensures that project deliverables satisfy project requirements and schedule.
  • Determines, monitors and reviews costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role and of the project activities in general.
  • Establishes, monitors, and reports appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.
  • Facilitates the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conducts status review meetings among project team members and clients.
  • Supervise the work of others.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another related field of study.
  • Master's degree a plus.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in the planning, design and construction of W/WW facilities and/or infrastructure: planning, design and construction of potable water and wastewater treatment and conveyance design.
  • Experience working with local water clients including municipalities, agencies and investor-owned companies.
  • Experience delivering projects for the larger water clients in the area is a plus.
  • Experience delivering designs in CAD and use of 3-D modeling.
  • Ability to monitor, report, and manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the following skills: leadership, oral and written communication, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem solving.
  • Experience with presenting and leading/participating in project meetings.
  • Experience related to directing, coordinating, and supervising a staff.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, spreadsheet, document, and database software (such as Contracts Manager (Expedition), P3E, Microsoft Office package, and/or other related software).
  • Knowledge of and experience in reviewing and understanding a project's Health and Safety Plan and QA/QC Plan.
  • Experience in reviewing and overseeing a Document Control Plan, and development/ utilization of a Project Management and Procedures Manual.

Compensation Range:

$114,544.55 - $152,726.06
