I. Job Overview

The Infusion Services Manager has organization-wide accountability for the Infusion department and service line. The team spans across MCN locations and currently consists of 18 direct reports - 14 nurses (9 PT/FT and 5 Casual), 1 nursing assistant, 2 navigators (sched./reg.), and 1 patient financial advocate.

This role reports to the Director of Operations and is a valuable member of the Operations Leadership team. This role will closely collaborate with fellow Operations leaders and the Infusion Medical Director to establish consistent processes that deliver efficient operations as MCN continues to grow Infusion services. The Infusion Services Manager acts in the best interest of MCN patients, providers and staff to create high-quality, patient-centered care through effective clinical leadership, operational management, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

A successful candidate will bring a breadth of knowledge and formative experiences in people leadership, nursing and clinical services (infusion experience preferred), safety and quality practices, development of consistent operational workflows, patient scheduling design and workflow capacity management, collaborative problem-solving abilities, and a drive for continuous improvement. This position offices at Golden Valley, but will travel to all MCN sites frequently and routinely to support Infusion operations.

II. Key Accountabilities



  • Performs administrative and management duties in support of the infusion center. Manages day-to-day clinical operation of the infusion center by monitoring workflow and clinical activities.
  • Manages infusion schedules and staffing levels in a way that optimizes efficiencies and utilization of resources.
  • Manages infusion services staff, including hiring, training/developing, managing performance, discipline and termination responsibilities. Administers time and attendance responsibilities.
  • Leads department process improvement efforts and contributes to organization-wide projects, sharing changes in procedures with staff to ensure efficient workflows are instituted and maintained.
  • Develops, coordinates and maintains various workflow processes to ensure successful and compliant clinical function.
  • Performs responsibilities related to financial management of the infusion service line, such as collecting/monitoring metrics indicating departmental performance and assisting with annual budgeting process.
  • Works with MCN's Patient Financial Services and Accounting departments on billing processes. Maintains relationships with vendors related to infusion services such as drug and equipment suppliers.
  • Provides direct care for patients receiving infusion therapy as needed. Administers IV medications to patients in infusion center according to orders from referring physicians.




Position Requirements

III. Qualifications:

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor degree in nursing with current MN Registered Nurse RN license in good standing.
  • At least five years of experience as an RN required, two years of experience with infusion therapy preferred.
  • Supervisory or management experience is required.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Basic knowledge of neurology.
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and EHR system (EPIC preferred).
