PURPOSE: This position is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring and repair of the electrical systems and lighting within Mall of America, while provided a memorial shopping and entertainment experience.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:



  • Perform maintenance, service and repairs on all MOA electrical equipment including, but not limited to the following: lighting for internal and exterior property, service electrical panels, motors, controls, electrical switch gear, electrical distribution systems, outlets and displays
  • Assist in annual switch gear maintenance duties on 3rd shift for 2-4 week period, as assigned
  • Setup and monitor electrical needs and requirements for promotional events and marketing projects.


  • Familiarity and ability to utilize Building Management System (BMS) to assist in handling Engineering departmental needs, when needed.


  • Perform basic electrical work on internal tenant spaces and mall areas.


  • Install and replace electrical wiring methods, lighting, replacing light bulbs, ballast and installing and replacing conduits
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area and surrounding work areas, as well as adhering to safety protocols and regulations while perform electrical work.
  • Ensure Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed, and safety is maintained during LOTO
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.


  • Attending or graduate of 2-year trade, vocational, or technical program in electrical maintenance or equivalent experience, preferred.


  • License as electrical journeyman, preferred.
  • 1-3 years previous commercial and/or industrial electrical experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the safe handling and operation of tools equipment and materials used in electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Able to register as an unlicensed electrician in Minnesota.
  • Basic computer / BMS skills preferred.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


While performing the duties of this job, the team member will continuously be required to talk and listen to machines and environment in order to understand maintenance needs and communicate a solution with other team members. Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will allow them to be aware of their surroundings, including hearing alarms, radios, and sounds from machine troubleshooting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Vision can be supplemented with corrective lenses, with the ability to wear eye protection and other required PPE to perform job duties.

  • Twist: Occasionally, about 50% of the time
  • Dexterity: Frequently, about 70% of the time

    • Use of both hands to effectively and safely perform tasks.

STARTING PAY:


$19.72 - 24.65
