Type: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $21.44 - $30.00 per hour. (Tessera's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)

Work Schedule: Temporary, Part-time - 3 days per week (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs, position is not expected to exceed 12 months.)

As a Temporary Vocational Assistant, you'll... The Temporary Vocational Assistant is a key role that involves working closely with both employees and supervisors to ensure that employees receive the necessary support and accommodations to perform their job duties effectively. This position provides one-on-one mentoring, job shadowing, and hands-on demonstrations to assist employees in fulfilling their responsibilities. The Temporary Vocational Assistant is responsible for delivering job coaching support across various locations, including the home office in Bremerton, Naval Hospital Bremerton, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), Naval Base Bangor, Naval Base Keyport, and Port Townsend. In collaboration with Vocational Specialists, the Temporary Vocational Assistant will guide employees in utilizing Tessera technology, such as signing into OKTA and resetting passwords as needed. Additionally, the role includes job shadowing Vocational Specialists during crisis intervention training and employee support, acting as a backup Vocational Specialist when required, writing detailed case notes after employee meetings, and assisting with federal documentation compliance (IEE). The Temporary Vocational Assistant will also support employees in completing SSI and SSDI applications, scheduling disability-related appointments and assisting the Recruiting team with strategic recruiting efforts.

  • Provides job coaching support to employees at the home office in Bremerton, Naval Hospital Bremerton, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Naval Base Bangor, Naval Base Keyport, and Port Townsend

  • Attends Vocational weekly Cross Functional Team meetings and bi-weekly Vocational Department meetings

  • Writes detailed case notes after meeting with each employee

  • Collaborates with Vocational Specialists to support employees

  • Maintains and promotes collaboration with all employees, departments, and service providers in a team-oriented environment

  • Job shadow and support Vocational Specialists with crisis intervention/trainings/employee support

  • Participates in various Vocational and/or Cross-Functional Team projects when needed

  • Supports Tessera employees with gathering information to complete their SF86 security form

  • Assists with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and safety planning to support employees who are struggling or in crisis

  • Aides Tessera employees with filling out information into the Department of Defense (DoD) computer system

  • Assists employees with career development, including providing career assessments, identifying relevant job opportunities, and assist with writing resumes, cover letters, and completing job applications.

  • Coach employees on utilizing Tessera technology to include, but not limited to signing into OKTA and resetting their password

  • Assists employees in locating appropriate medical providers and supports them in understanding their medical bills, including requesting financial assistance when needed.

  • Maintains effective professional relations with clients, staff, and the general public

  • Assist recruiting with strategic recruiting efforts

  • Assist Vocational Specialist with federal documentation and Ability One Compliance

  • Act as Vocational Specialist back-up when needed

  • Position is not expected to exceed 12 months

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Temporary Vocational Assistant:

  • Associate's degree is required.

  • 0 - 3 years of previous experience as a Job Coach, in Social Services, or related field is required.

  • Combination of education and previous experience will be considered.

  • Due to the need to travel to Tessera contract sites in Washington, a valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
