Job Description Internal Audit Manager 2001 Theurer Blvd, Winona, MN 55987 HEADQ Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Internal Audit Manager, you will lead the internal audit function, oversee audit planning and execution, and ensure the organization remains aligned with regulatory and operational best practices. This role requires strong collaboration across finance, accounting, and operational departments, and offers exposure to global business processes. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and also works closely with the Audit Committee. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Managing a comprehensive internal audit program o Conducting annual risk assessments to guide audit planning and ensure focus on key risk areas o Evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures o Developing audit scopes, testing strategies, and prepare audit reports with clear, actionable recommendations o Communicating audit findings and work collaboratively to address control gaps o Staying current on audit standards, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with applicable frameworks (e.g., COSO, US GAAP). o Coordinating with external auditors and assist in regulatory and compliance-related activities o Investigating reported or suspected unethical activity o Leading and mentoring audit team members, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development support Participating in special projects and support the continuous improvement of financial and operational processes REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related Business field of study o Possess at least 5 years of relevant work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Willingness to travel o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Previous experience using PeopleSoft (or comparable ERP systems), POS, WMS, etc. o Familiarity with key audit standards and frameworks, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (Sox) and COSO o Possess a CPA ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
