Compliance Specialist

Position location is flexible and may office from a branch in Winona, MN - Denton, TX - High Point, NC or Greensboro, NC

Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm
18 - 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-Time Compliance Specialist with a focus on the regulatory sustainability related topics, you will be a strategic link between Fastenal's Procurement, Supply Chain, Supplier Development, and Sales Teams. Your main responsibility will be creating, advocating, and governing the products and suppliers that make up these programs. This will include, but not limited to, defining and validating marketing content and product structure, internal and end user standardized reporting, advocacy to suppliers in each program, along with an active role as a stakeholder of Fastenal's ESG efforts. In addition, you will be the main subject matter expert supporting teams with monitoring assistance related to green and sustainability regulations, to include internal business process changes and planning cycles. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o Researching and maintaining governance around green and sustainable products

o Research and develop program plans affecting Fastenal business changes to support any green or sustainable regulations

o Leading projects to better present green and sustainable solutions to Fastenal customers

o EHF and packaging reporting on an Annual, Quarterly, and Monthly basis

o Creating and maintaining relationships between supplier, vendor development and sales

o Verifying and maintaining supplier information and documentation

o Generating ad hoc reports along with non-standard customer reporting

o Collaborating with various departments globally

o Enforcing company policy with regards to supply chain compliance

o Using tools provided to ensure compliance and communication to the organization: PeopleSoft, SmartSheet, Internet, 3rd party databases, Internal communication tools such as BLUE Chatbot, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Sales Enablement Center

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed

o Excellent written and oral communication skills

o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (V-lookups and basic formatting)

o Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented

o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities

o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skills

o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency

o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

o Work independently as well as in a team environment

o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)
