About this opportunity:

The School of Art invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Graphic Design/Graphic Communications Management beginning August 2025. The successful applicant will teach courses in graphic design, printing processes, packaging design, publication and web design, UI/UX, cross media communications, 2D design, and/or drawing. Other teaching duties based on programmatic need and the expertise of the faculty hired individual may be assigned.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do and what you will bring:

Description:

Teach courses in graphic design, printing processes, packaging design, publication and web design, UI/UX, cross media communications, 2D design, and/or drawing. Other teaching duties based on programmatic need and the expertise of the faculty hired individual may be assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in graphic design, printing processes, packaging design, publication and web design, UI/UX, cross media communications, 2D design, and/or drawing.

  • Contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities

  • Other teaching duties based on programmatic need and the expertise of the faculty hired individual may be assigned

  • Demonstrated commitment to student success initiatives, including mentorship, curricular innovation, and special projects/events

  • Service to the School of Art, College of Fine Arts, and university

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in graphic arts management, graphic design, or related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment OR

  • Five years of documented industry experience in graphic design, graphic arts management, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

One academic year (at least eight months) of teaching experience at the college level, either gained concurrently or at any time.
