The successful Sales Development Manager will handle all the leads received with precision, following the City Cruises sales process while driving maximum revenue per lead. Also, we will exhibit strong sales acumen, with the ability to thoroughly understand guests' needs, pitching the most appropriate cruise experience and following up on all leads and opportunities to close. This position may also require prospective outreach to a new clientele, across all our group markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Handles all lead with precision, with the goal of meeting or exceeding the revenue per lead target set forth within their lead discipline.
  • Responding to all leads in a timely manner, with a focus on urgency around time to first activity.
  • Thorough work all leads through the sales process, with the goal of obtaining closure via sales won or lost.
  • Develops a comprehensive knowledge of all ports being sold into, including boat nuances, docking locations, pricing structure and boat capacities.
  • Follows guidance of sales leadership and incorporates effective sales techniques, such as regularly hosting virtual calls with working leads.
  • Convert prospects to clients by using the proven sales strategy as indicated above with the goal of winning the sale.
  • Identifies customer needs and uses in-depth product knowledge to prepare winning proposals.
  • Convincingly presents proposals in-person during site inspections and face-to-face meetings.
  • Handles objections and solves customer problems, through active listening techniques and by regularly consulting with sales leadership.
  • As directed, prospects to new clients via purchased lists such as ZoomInfo.
  • Calls upon past accounts that have limited activity, as assigned, with the goal of generating referrals and developing new sources of business.
  • Ability to effectively plan out a schedule for the week, with a focus on closing revenue and hitting all sales activities planned for the given week.
  • Uses Salesforce (CRM software) to effectively plan and manage the activities in the assigned markets and to track the productivity of these sales activities.
  • Uses Anchor (reservation software) to accurately book orders and to create curated proposals, with the goal of presenting said proposals in person, whether at a client's location or on a ship tour.
  • As requested, we assist in balance collections to ensure that no guests cruises without payment in full.
  • Maintains proper personal organization; manages time well, sets appropriate work priorities, and maintains accurate records


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 2-years total sales experience consisting of at least 1-year of outside sales experience.
  • Prefer bachelor's degree preferably in a discipline related to the work of the position.
  • Prefer hospitality experience but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products as well as CRM software.
  • Analytical skills required to identify and exploit selling opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player and have ability to work independently, self-motivating
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
