The Department of Teaching and Learning within the College of Education at the University of Iowa is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the following 3-semester hour course to be taught in the Fall 2025 semester:

EDTL:3143 - Methods of Elementary Art and Field Experiences

This course is directed toward the practice of teaching children art, understanding reflective pedagogical practice, and participating meaningfully in children's interpretive practices.

Job Functions

Instruction and student support for the 3-semester hour course will include the following responsibilities:

Providing meeting time for students enrolled in the course;

Managing the online course system (ICON) for the course;

Development of a course syllabus for the course;

Leading instruction for the course.

Education Requirement

Master's degree in an education-related field and/or psychology or child development. Special consideration will be given to candidates with art-focused scholarly practice.

Qualifications

Adjunct Instructor must have completed an accredited Teacher Education Program in the United States and held a teaching license in the United States.
