You'll join a collaborative team at the Product Engineering Center in Loves Park, Illinois, where your designs will directly support critical industrial drives that power motors, control processes, and improve energy efficiency. Whether it's optimizing designs for real-world performance or improving reliability and cost-effectiveness, your work will matter from day one.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Design and improve mechanical components for our existing drive products, focusing on quality, performance, and manufacturability.



  • Test and qualify new parts and designs, including thermal performance, mechanical strength, and material compliance with global standards like UL and IEC.



  • Collaborate across teams-working with manufacturing, safety, and quality teams to ensure designs are practical, safe, and production-ready.



  • Support prototyping efforts by overseeing build activities and analyzing test results to drive design decisions.



  • Research new technologies and materials that could influence the next generation of Danfoss products.



What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; 0-3 years of experience in product design, R&D, or related fields.



  • Experience with 3D CAD design tools, preferably CREO/Windchill.



  • Strong skills in engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, geometry, and materials.



  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply statistical and logical thinking to solve design problems.



  • A collaborative mindset, eagerness to learn, and passion for building smarter, more efficient mechanical systems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000- $85,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including role-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
