Application and Installation Engineering Manager is responsible for the leading the PSD Engineering Application and Installation (A&I) Team in HOLT Power Systems Division, with the overall goal of continuous quality improvement of HOLT products, maximizing profitability, and increasing customer satisfaction. This person is the point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding product application and installation, design, and quality.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:



  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Leads PSD Engineering Team, overseeing Quality and Application support.
  • Implements and trains teams on quality and design review processes.
  • Conducts design reviews and resolve issues prior to production for Holt and OEM products.
  • Approves all phases of application and installation, ensuring compliance.
  • Analyzes and optimizes engineering workflows to enhance efficiency.
  • Evaluates post-mortem reports to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provides technical guidance to teams and external stakeholders.
  • Travels to customer sites as needed for testing, validation, and audits.
  • Performs design calculations verification for any project within technical expertise.
  • Provides final approval for all phases of application and installation process including Concept, Design Review, and Testing and Validation.
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other duties assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in technical analysis, problem-solving, and planning.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, regulations, and technical documents.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Proficient in MS Office and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to quality check reports, read and understand equipment A&I guides, and read and interpret technical documents.
  • Advanced skills required in problem solving, planning, organization, time management and analysis.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers, coworkers, internal and external customers.
  • Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration or related field required, or 10 years of experience in related field required.
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience required, a combination of Technical Management, Engineering Management, Manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with CAT Engines and Electric Power Products preferred.
  • CAT IPSD A&I Certification required 6 months after employment.


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Travel:



  • Up to 30%, overnight travel required.
  • Valid Driver's License.

  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position, standing, and walking; additionally, occasional kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
  • Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladder.


Work Environment:



  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions and outdoor conditions on jobsite.
  • Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.
  • Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
