Machine Operator II - Sonoco Wood Reels - First Shift

The position is responsible for operating the machines used to produce wood reels for use in the wire and cable industry. The operator also handles various tasks on the production floor including but not limited to moving materials and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities include:
* Maintaining all equipment to ensure continuous operation
* Ensuring safe operations by adhering to safety policies and procedures
* Troubleshooting issues that arise during operation of equipment
* Adjusting machine settings based on product specifications
* Inspecting products to ensure they meet quality standards
* Collaborating with other team members to coordinate workflow and resolve any challenges that may arise
* Monitoring the supply of raw materials and ensuring timely delivery of finished goods.

Qualifications:
* 2 Years+ Previous manufacturing experience preferred
* Ability to work overtime when necessary
* Forklift certification or willingness to become forklift certified required
* Computer literacy preferred (specifically Microsoft Office Suite)
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
* Ability to read a tape measure
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Willingness to learn new processes and techniques
* Detail oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
