About the role:

The Security Manager will manage the development and implementation of an effective Global Security and Resiliency strategy and program to mitigate risk, safeguard the organization's human assets, intellectual property, integrity, reputation, and physical assets to ensure continuity of operations under leadership and guidance from the Senior Regional Security Manager. The Security Manager manages the regional security program to align with corporate program objectives and address all aspects of security for the organization's global businesses, including investigations, administrative security, physical security, personnel security, security education and training, crisis management, and emergency preparedness.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully-onsite work model requiring employees to be in our regional offices five (5) days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:




  • Support the development and implementation of a corporate-wide security plan that assesses current threats and vulnerabilities; identifies protection goals, objectives, and metrics consistent with corporate strategic objectives; and details the efficient and cost-effective utilization of security resources
  • Manage the regional contract security staff
  • Develop regional policies, objectives, budgets, plans, procedures, and schedules, and conduct quality control audits and evaluate work standards and performance levels ensuring uniformity, effectiveness, and appropriate staffing levels
  • Develop regional training programs and conduct regional training exercises to ensure organizational preparedness for a security-related incident and to raise employee awareness
  • Manage the security contract employees consisting of internal security personnel and/or partners and vendors, as appropriate
  • Assist where needed in coordinating cross-functional efforts with Real Estate and Facilities, Legal, Human Resources, Privacy & Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Finance, Senior Enterprise Management, and Information Systems to provide thorough analysis of security risks and development of appropriate mitigating strategies
  • Maintain professional relationships with local, State, and Federal agencies
  • Assist in stabilizing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and be knowledgeable of current trends in the security industry
  • Implement investigation initiatives which align partners, describe process and procedure, and identify corporate goals in the conduct of an investigation
  • Lead or manage regional initiatives to develop and maintain a Business Continuity Plan



Required qualifications:




  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of security industry experience



Preferred qualifications:




  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Security Technology, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Leadership Principles, Project Management, Business Administration, or similar field
  • Prior security industry experience in a corporate environment
  • Certification through a recognized security industry accreditation organization such, i.e., ASIS PSP, CPP, etc.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in access control systems (i.e. S2), video management system (i.e. Milestone), Microsoft Suite, incident report writing, staff management, and project management
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse and complex teams
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and executing a budget
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, management, and execution of a Crisis Management program

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
