The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, located in the Silicon Valley, seeks applicants for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in physics beginning September 1, 2026.SCU is a welcoming and inclusive community of teaching scholars whose work is grounded in the universitys fundamental values. The university draws on the many resources of the greater Bay Area, including Silicon Valley, where we are located. The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics offers distinct B.S. degrees in physics and engineering physics, and graduates about 10-15 majors each year. Our faculty pursue research in a broad range of areas, including condensed matter physics, AMO, quantum information, and biophysics. The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics is housed in the Sobrato Center for Discovery and Innovation (SCDI), a state-of-the-art facility designed to support innovative teaching and research. We seek excellent and dynamic physicists capable of developing nationally-fundable research projects in experimental or computational physics.
