The Purchasing Analyst (General Office) will develop, coordinate, administer, audit, and evaluate any/all Purchasing Programs for all food and non-food distribution on behalf of the Ben E. Keith organization. This position will work in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Procurement, and accounting departments.




  • Manage Purchasing Programs
  • Gather information from various sources to determine that supplier programs are properly administered
  • Participate in Corporate supplier reviews
  • Have a detailed understanding of all forms of Purchasing income that is at a highly consistent dialogue level with Corporate Category Directors and Director of Purchasing (DOP's) from all Ben E. Keith divisions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation on all solicited program(s) information.
  • Work in conjunction with GO Accounting Department, to ensure timely billings through programs such as Trackmax and Unipro and Markon.
  • Prepare competitive analysis of all programs and proposals for reporting purposes.
  • Monitor, track, and report on program profitability and convey statistics to management on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist Marketing in developing a timeline to roll out procedures for all divisions.
  • Analyze and report on purchasing metrics, creating standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned



Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree, preferred, in business administration or management, or Supply Chain Management
  • Must have good knowledge of PC operations and software (including Word Processing, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Strong knowledge of price and cost analysis as it relates to accounting principles
  • Strong knowledge of data processing systems as they relate to the purchasing function


  • Detailed oriented, and well organized; Must be able to multitask and meet tight deadlines


  • Self-directed and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to communicate well with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated capability to make educated decisions and recommendations
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, all complex and technical subjects in a clear, concise, and positive manner
  • Analyze procurement and pricing data to identify cost reduction opportunities, market trends, and supplier performance insights, presenting actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop and recommend procurement strategies to leadership that can directly impact company profitability.
  • Ability to develop timelines and schedules to complete projects on a timely basis
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
