General Purpose: Under general supervision of Director Loan Fund, this role provides leadership, oversight, and strategic management for the loan fund servicing unit to ensure all areas of the department are operating soundly and efficiently by providing excellent customer service as well as maintaining strong relationships with customers and third-party vendors, resulting in repeat customers. Specific job goals, objectives, and tasks are established for each employee as part of the annual evaluation and work plan process. - Supervises the daily operational activities, development, and training of the business loan servicing staff in managing member relationships involving loans and other related services.
- Responsible for compliance and quality control.
- Provides recommendations for action and assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, process improvement, department goals and objectives.
- Strengthens existing business member relationships through product/service referrals and problem identification and resolution.
- Ensures constant communication and efficient workflow within the loan servicing unit.
- Reviews executed closed loans for proper documentation, signatures, notarization and recording of information on new loan originations, extensions, renewals, and changes in terms.
- Performs loan onboarding verification to ensure accurate booking of loans.
- Verifies all funds have been disbursed appropriately and loans are booked into servicing platform.
- Verify required notices and statements have been provided timely.
- Oversees and ensures loan payments are posted in a timely manner.
- Oversees and reviews the preparation of accurate partial and full payoff demands.
- Oversees report preparation, ensuring accuracy for internal departments and external agencies.
- Oversees the timely release of loan collateral.
- Oversees the timely funding of construction draws.
- Oversees the maintenance of financial statements and insurance policies.
- Reviews monthly recap report for past-due payments.
- Schedules and coordinates quarterly portfolio reviews.
- Evaluates loan servicing data, research issues, and execute changes.
- Manages and supervises complicated reporting, loan fund spreadsheets, and reconciling activities.
- Recommends feasible solutions to resolve problems and facilitates implementation of same.
- Recommends solutions to resolve troubled accounts.
- Works on long-term projects and goals as requested by the Loan Fund Director to meet the objectives of the organization.
- Coordinates with the finance department as needed.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervision Exercised:
- Supervises staff in loan servicing unit.
- Improves staff effectiveness by motivating, coaching, counseling, training, and recommending disciplinary action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner, and approving time sheets.
- Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, schedules, time approval, hiring, training, orientation, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Develops measurable performance expectations for assigned staff according to department goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications and Necessary Requirements:
- EQUIVALENT combination of education and experience can meet minimum qualifications.
- EDUCATION: Associate's degree in finance, accounting, banking, customer service or related field.
- LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver's license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum requirements ($100,000/$300,000) of RCAC corporate liability policy.
- EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience servicing lending. Two years in a supervisory capacity. Significant experience proofreading and editing documents. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
- Must pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of real estate finance, development, law, lending practices and procedures, and the escrow process.
- Knowledge of public nonprofit associations, agencies, and programs.
- Knowledge of servicing for various community development lending programs.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to prepare and present loan documentation.
- Ability to plan, monitor, and manage contract and loan performance.

Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Lending experience.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office with a moderate noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required. Travel will be required.
