The Center for Health Care Management & Policy (CHCMP) serves as a vital knowledge source for healthcare leaders navigating industry transformation. Established in 1988, the Center conducts research on innovation, market-oriented technological mediation, practice diffusion and adoption, collaborative value creation, and consumption journeys. It provides a collaborative forum for dialogue among scholars, business leaders, and government officials.

CHCMP's flagship annual Health Care Forecast Conference, launched in 1992, brings together stakeholders to share perspectives on economic and political issues shaping healthcare. Today, the Center's mission focuses on advancing the intersection of business acumen and healthcare delivery through innovative education, inclusive partnerships, and cutting-edge research.

The Center prepares diverse healthcare leaders to navigate technology-driven transformation while fostering collaborative dialogue and generating evidence-based solutions for equitable healthcare delivery. CHCMP envisions itself as a preeminent hub that transforms healthcare management and policy through business innovation, creating lasting positive impact where business principles and healthcare missions align to build more efficient, equitable, and effective healthcare systems.


Your Role on the Team

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional, to provide comprehensive coordination and management oversight of moderately complex and / or medium-size events.

Provides administrative and operational support to Faculty Director and Assistant Director, Center for Health Care Management & Policy (CHCMP). May assist with processing financial transactions and Zotforce gift administration. Assists with planning and execution of the annual Speaker Series Program, annual Advisory Board Meeting and annual Health Care Forecast Conference.

Note: This is a six-month, 50% Contract position with potential for extension.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Ability to effectively work with invited guests, donors, government officials and university VIPs.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in making decisions and managing events. Skill in effectively meeting budget and time constraints.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to work successfully with clients to produce high quality events that meet client needs and appropriately represent the campus for fundraising events. Skills to provide excellent donor stewardship.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities.
  • Highly developed judgment, decision-making and problem recognition / avoidance / resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues / problems that need to be brought to management's attention.
  • Proven ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. Skill at responding effectively to priorities and setting deadlines.
  • Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to give clear directives and use independent, rational judgment to make optimal decisions.
  • Knowledge and skill to set and monitor work standards and protocols.
  • Excel, Word, Outlook and X fluency.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 3-5 years work experience in similar roles, ideally in a university setting

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, programs, policies, achievements and infrastructure. Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to the use of University facilities, event management and presentation.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of volunteer recruitment, supervision, motivation and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of crowd management, crowd safety protocols, security and emergency procedures related to small, medium and large scale gatherings.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with complex accounts payable software.
  • Knowledge of KFS and Word Press.

Special Conditions:

  • Hybrid position with some onsite work expected each week.
  • Must be available to work year-round, but November - March availability is required

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $34.29- $40.97 (Hourly).
