Job Summary

The Research Coordinator II is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of assigned research projects. Serves as a central liaison among principal investigators, students, university departments, partner institutions, and external collaborators. Supports administrative functions, procurement, budget tracking, event coordination, digital communications, and reporting. Coordinates outreach initiatives and internal process improvement to ensure efficient project execution

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of assigned projects, overseeing outreach efforts, research activities, and ensuring timelines, deliverables, and event schedules are effectively maintained.
  • Serves as a primary liaison among the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), students, FIU departments, partner institutions, collaborators, and, when applicable, external advisory committees to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Collaborates with key project personnel, including students and postdoctoral researchers, to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Prepares briefing materials, schedule meetings and calls, and support the PI and Co-PI with timely information and documentation to ensure readiness for all engagements.
  • Oversees purchasing duties and PCard transactions related to project needs, ensuring all reconciliations are completed in a timely and policy-compliant manner.
  • Assists in procuring supplies, services, and equipment essential for project success, while tracking orders and addressing any budget-related concerns.
  • Coordinates the PI and Co-PI with travel arrangements, including obtaining authorizations and preparing post-travel expense reports for conferences and related trips.
  • Take detailed weekly meeting minutes for both research and outreach activities, circulate drafts, and incorporate accurate feedback for reference.
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports that summarize activities, outcomes, and progress across projects.
  • Work closely with relevant personnel to ensure proper documentation, reconciliation, and timely submission of reports and budgets.
  • Oversees social media channels and project websites for assigned projects, creating and scheduling content to promote events, updates, and accomplishments as well as engaging with partner organizations, student groups, and promoting activities through digital flyers and email communications.
  • Coordinates special project events such as technical workshops, recruitment sessions, and partner meetings while ensuring logistical arrangements are handled in advance.
  • Monitors and follows up on outstanding tasks and action items to maintain progress and workflow efficiency.
  • Designs and implements internal administrative procedures to enhance operational efficiency and support ongoing project needs.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience.
