Position Overview

The Lead IT Program Manager is responsible for the program management and solution implementation of information technology (IT) related projects and leading them toward successful completion while providing project/program management experience, rigor, and consistency across the enterprise. This is a hands-on role that requires close collaboration with all levels of Exact Sciences.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide technical direction and guidance, and hands-on project leadership projects of high complexity.
  • Work with business stakeholders to define strategy and requirements in order to define and execute IT programs.
  • Develop schedules, budgets, risk management plans, quality goals, and lead the team to success.
  • Participate in design and usability reviews to ensure alignment with stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed program metrics around initiative goals.
  • Responsible for stakeholder management and influence of leaders across the organization.
  • Manage resolution of issues and communicate and translate technical concepts.
  • Lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the process.
  • Drive tough decision making while balancing business goals, technical implications, and timelines.
  • Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects including coordination of cross-project activities.
  • Share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Improve process and project management practices to advance best practices.
  • Apply change, risk, and resource management.
  • Prepare reports for program leadership.
  • Manage internal and external teams and operations across functional boundaries.
  • Apply financial, resource, and vendor management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality oriented with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Excellent change management and issue resolution skills with the ability to deliver results.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10+ years of project management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading at a program delivery level.
  • Expert knowledge of project management concepts and skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and recommend solutions across business and IT.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • PMI Project Management certification.

Salary Range:

$109,000.00 - $185,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
