We are seeking a Director Supply Chain Management (SCM) Category Management Direct.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and management oversight of the development, integration, and implementation of business aligned strategies for the acquisition of goods and services in support of our midstream, gas utilities and power organizations, including related growth projects. This role leverages the supply chain for strategic advancement, added value and cost savings, while promoting SCM as a value driven partner. The role will partner with the stakeholders to drive accountability and focus in assisting to achieve Enbridge's revenue and profitability targets, while maintaining our commitment to safety.

What you will do:

Provides strategic leadership by:

  • Actively participating in setting SCM's strategic direction and vision by providing input into the development, articulation and implementation of the goals and objectives

  • Developing and sustaining processes to aggregate company demand for goods and services and delivering innovative and dynamic commercial recommendations to competitively satisfy stakeholder demands

  • Guiding the application of broad and deep knowledge of Enbridge stakeholder goals and objectives, leading category teams to deliver subject matter expertise in market dynamics, economics and industry trends that influence SCM levers, supplier and customer relationship management, financial impacts, and related risk analyses, and translates these into effective category and sourcing strategies

  • Developing and sustaining a diverse staff of professionals, responsible for creating recommendations and implementing strategies that align with business needs and deliver sustained value.

  • Leading continuous improvement in category management and supply chain service delivery

Provides operational/transactional leadership by:

  • Ensuring that all procurement activities consistently align with Enbridge policies, SCM professional governance standards, and all legal requirements within applicable jurisdictional boundaries (such as SOX and CSOX)

  • Leading the identification and implementation of best practice category management and sourcing activities regarding value creation (savings and cost reduction), and quality enhancing opportunities

  • Representing SCM as a subject matter expert by acting as an advisor and participating on, or leading, internal or external committees and task forces to facilitate business initiatives while ensuring legal compliance.

Provides people leadership by:

  • Resourcing, developing, and motivating a team of +/- 25-30 SCM managers, professional staff and contractors in the fulfillment of project and related business unit needs

  • Fostering an environment in which continuous improvement of SCM systems, tools, processes and standards takes place, often in the role of a champion of change in mindsets and behaviors.

Who you are:

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Law, Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field. Post graduate degrees and recognized supply chain designations, are an asset.

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible and related experience including 7 years of Manager/Director level experience in an asset management environment.

  • Experience leading complex supply chain organizations and evolving category management scopes, are an asset.

  • Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influence and leadership skills, including ability to interface and support both the Executive Management Team and Executive Leadership Team

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment

  • Travel will be in Canada and the US requiring a valid passport

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
