General Role Description:

The Infusion Pharmacist will perform chemotherapy and sterile product admixture for the clinic departments. The infusion pharmacist will work closely with the physician team in monitoring patients on therapy specifically chemotherapy. They will be required to know oncology protocols and be responsible for verifying orders per protocols. Manages pharmacy prepared infusion medications administered in the clinic including accurate and complete charge capture. Responsible for achievement of customer service and financial objectives; adherence to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold policies and procedures: and management of all assigned personnel including students. Manages inventory and overall cost of service provisions. Performs all of a registered pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers and distribution of clinic use pharmaceuticals.

Required Qualifications:



  • Graduate from School of Pharmacy
  • Must be sterile products IV Certified
  • Texas license Registered Pharmacist
  • 2+ years hospital / infusion pharmacy experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, and inform and train about policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patient care issues
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customer and in clinic patients to handle complaints and problems, assist with questions, and recommend products/recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability operate computer terminal for infusion preparations
  • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole number and decimals to calculate infusion preparation dosages



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • KSC experience
  • Experience with aseptic techniques
  • Experience writing reports (i.e., weekly/monthly) pertaining to accident/injury, maintain logs, necessary infusion records
  • Solid chemotherapy and oncology background
  • Demonstrated excellent people management skills



The hourly range for this role is $43.17 to $84.95 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
