Manager, GME Training Program

Job Description

Manages and organizes administrative functions, plans and supports development of the site/joint division programs and all related areas. Oversees the planning, directing and coordination of academic operational and financial activities of the medical education programming in the department.

Job Responsibility

• Provides leadership to GME Training Program team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
• Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
• Coordinates administrative functions, plans and supports program development of the department/division; assists the program leadership and faculty in the development of the residency program curriculum.
• Manages residency program block rotation schedule along with the residency program leadership, faculty and chief residents; monitors resident schedules to ensure compliance with ACGME and other regulatory body rules and regulations.
• Manages department/division in a fiscally responsible manner; assists in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets - operational, personnel and capital.
• Assists in developing and maintaining objectives, policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the department/division; coordinates and oversees multiple administrative disciplines/functions resources.
• Ensures compliance with public health law, institutional and departmental rules and regulations.
• Manages collection, storage, reporting and distribution of program data and residency/fellowship program records.
• Participates in monitoring and evaluating a program's inception and performance and routinely monitors program leadership, faculty, trainees via residency management the health system (RMS).
• Identifies and implements technology, streamline operations and apply new concepts and techniques for positive outcomes.

Job Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
