Job Summary A Facilities Specialist plans, directs, manages, coordinates, diagnoses problems, and performs maintenance specialist functions for a complex state of the art Data Storage Facility. This position will be primarily for a plumber with other building maintenance experience. Coordinate in the operations of a modern data storage facility, in a 24/7/365 environment. This position involves rotating shift work including 12-hour shifts involving both day and night work. Primary Activities and Responsibilities
Conduct preventative maintenance and facility checks Conduct commercial trouble shooting and repair Conduct any plumbing maintenance and repairs Assist in maintaining commercial refrigeration and controls Assist in maintaining cooling towers and chilled water systems Assist in maintaining HVAC systems, building air balancing, fire suppression, plumbing, fuel distribution systems, and electrical including security equipment Assist in maintain fire alarm system, generators sets, switch gears, UPS system, substations, and panel boards Some experience working with SOP's, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and manufactures technical specifications Sign on, monitor and input controls into the following systems: - Fire Alarm System - Facility access control and security system, Trane BAS system, - On-site weather station - CCTV camera system and the computerized digital video recording system Position requires interface and coordination with support contractors to maintain the facility Interact and oversee vendors and service providers for the Data Storage facility Respond to audible and visual alarms by taking ownership, creating trouble tickets, troubleshooting and resolving alarms, or escalating accordingly Ability to physically set up a 'warm site' temporary office working space for contracted customers upon notification or direction Ability to physically disassemble a 'warm site' temporary office working space and re-shelve/store it for future use Must be able to work independently and in a team environment Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by management Work as a member of a team that will be responsible for 99.99% system uptime with zero defects
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in security equipment, fire suppression, water distribution, sewer, elevator, mechanical, and electrical/UPS/backup power plant systems. Plumbing certification and experience Licensed as a plumber, master plumber, or pipe fitter Certified or accredited training in maintaining facility equipment and building management systems.
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Ability to write log entries, memos, notices, and reports in English with proper grammar and spelling Ability to interact with computerized security systems, alarms, and cameras Ability to follow specific and general instructions, independent decision making skills, and ability to work independently Knowledge in general computer experience
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 70 pounds, walking, standing, climbing ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and working in confined spaces.

Work in confined spaces at times Different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (including working nights, weekends and holidays) Hours which include rotating on-call responsibilities which may be outside standard hours. Wear protective equipment (appropriate to the task or environment at hand: such as eye protection, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.). Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week).
