Advantage Technical is hiring a Product Development Engineer (R&D) to support the integration of a newly acquired medical device product into our world-class operations. This is a hands-on engineering role perfect for a detail-oriented problem solver with experience in design controls, verification testing, and technical documentation in the medical device or regulated product space.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms for the AVVIGO+ Image-Guided Therapy System.
  • Work with medical imaging datasets-including data preprocessing, cleaning, augmentation, and annotation.
  • Build and fine-tune deep learning models for image classification and segmentation tasks using frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Validate model performance with robust testing and iterative optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including ML engineers, data scientists, and algorithm developers.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and patient-centered innovation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with medical device regulations, patient safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1-4 years of hands-on experience in machine learning and image processing.
  • Proficiency with Python-based libraries and tools, including:

    • PyTorch, TensorFlow
    • Pandas, Scikit-learn, Scipy


  • Demonstrated experience with medical image analysis or related domains.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience developing ML models specifically for medical imaging applications (CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, etc.).
  • Knowledge of computer vision techniques and real-time image analysis.
  • Familiarity with Docker, GitHub, and Python package development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative R&D environment.
