Position Summary

The Business Leadership team builds strong client relationships that drive positive outcomes for their business. The team does this by immersing itself in the business, elevating strategic opportunities for growth, and developing media recommendations that keep clients at the forefront of the industry. The Director will manage day-to-day operations of the client account(s) and media plan stewardship.

They will be responsible for participating in new/organic growth for the agency through strategic selling of services, new business and/or through client business growth. In this role you will collaborate with peer group to share work and inspire junior team members about creative-thinking, accountability, and thought-leadership.


Responsibilities

Portfolio & Growth



  • Demonstrates understanding of Client's business/category and can apply to role of media.
  • Build and strengthen junior to mid-level client relationships as a business partner and thought-leader to their organizations.
  • Coordinate collaboration and business updates with Mediahub's Partnership Investments, Audience Science, Campaign Insights, Insights + Action and Radical + Disruptive (R & D), in addition to extended Mediabrands and Kinesso specialty teams.
  • Support Group Director in maintenance of monthly MBIS investment and forecast tracking with Partner Investments and Client Finance.
  • Participate in new/organic growth for the agency through strategic selling of services, new business and/or through client business growth.
  • Partner with Local Investments, Kinesso and Partnership Investments to ensure partner consideration and, once approved, implementation of Mediabrands opportunities (Orion, MAGNA Deals, Performance products).
  • Listen to and summarize notes/implications from client earnings reports and/or BOD meeting outcomes and share with agency team and leadership stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with VP and Associate Director to develop and consistently provide industry updates, performance insights and opportunities to Clients.


Media Strategy



  • Develop goals, audience, and channel strategies, set budgets by channel, oversee execution and measurement for 2+ midsize client business.
  • Kick off all teams with approved brief and collaborate on timelines, priorities, and recommendations.
  • Set recommended budget by channel, working directly with channel leads to assess minimum spend/performance requirements and costing.
  • Partner with analytics team to determine measurement objectives and taxonomy.
  • Partner with SVP to deliver on client expectations and media briefs, including provide feedback to partner and junior planners on presentations/recommendations/reporting and plan optimizations.
  • Leads presentation of media plans to internal, partner teams, and/or client for approval and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Fulfil use of IGNITE planning strategy process (Implement business intelligence, Generate multiple audience segments, Navigate the investment, Tap into culture, Evolve with speed and precision) with client teams, to guarantee robust analysis of business/media role.
  • Oversee team running all planning tools (i.e. Kismet, R/F, etc.), as well as partnering with Analytics to run any models, to determine the optimal media mix (across all channels) and plan delivery.
  • Constant campaign leadership and monitoring is a must; as well as ongoing test/learn activity to establish client-specific benchmarks and best practices.
  • Partner with Insights + Action and Audience Sciences to develop audiences, profiles, and strategies to implement and measure. When Insights + Action is not in scope, create audience profiles using Scout and implement within Kismet to inform channel mix.
  • Identify and sell-in opportunities for Radical + Disruptive, incremental Insights + Action research/projects to elevate creative ideas, partner innovations and breakthrough consumer engagement ideas to drive client business growth.
  • Identify great work and partner with Comms/Insights + Action/Radical + Disruptive/etc. to create case studies that win awards, win business and celebrate the work (internally and externally).
  • Bring Mediahub values to life by challenging norms, creating "never been done befores", and pushing the limits of data-driven audience and performance insights.
  • Build presentations with effective story-telling to create engagement and buy-in to the work.


People & Culture



  • Participate in a diverse, inclusive, creative culture.
  • Responsible for developing the skill and knowledge base of those more junior as well as supervise, advise, and counsel direct report(s)
  • Facilitate regular 1:1s with direct reports to ensure information is appropriately understood and actioned (where appropriate), feedback can be elevated (if needed), and additional context/education/etc. can be provided.
  • Elevate client work within the agency and partner with Growth and Comms teams to submit for awards and recognition.
  • Actively participate in agency DEIB trainings and events, ERGs, ensure recruiting/interviewing/management is unbiased, inclusive.



Required Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years' experience required.
  • Able to build strong client relationship to develop a trusting partnership and facilitate mutual understanding process/priorities/needs.
  • Proven expertise in at least 2 channels, while developing additional acumen of cross-channel media marketplace and planning essentials (delivery levels, flighting etc.), including Video/Audio Broadcast/Streaming, Direct and Addressable Digital, Social Media, Retail Media (if applicable), Print, OOH, etc.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership capabilities including time management, delegation, providing recognition, providing performance feedback, and shaping development plans.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 2-3 times/year for client and industry meetings, conferences, training, etc.



Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Have participated in delivering effective work, won an award, pitched new business and/or driven organic growth.
  • Proven ability to simultaneously work on multiple accounts.
  • Proactive, willing to go the extra mile to produce positive results for your client and be a team leader.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • May provide proficiency in relevant category business environment and corresponding media imperatives [e.g. Retail Media, eCommerce, CPG, Financial Services].

The salary range for this position is posted below.
