Purpose of Position

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing depot level logistical support to KC-46 Aircrew Training System (ATS) sites, as well as conducting, recording, and participating in periodic site audits and inventories.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate integrated logistics support and depot inventory control activities.
  • Develop and implement logistics policy and procedures to support KC-46 ATS sites.
  • Oversee logistics activities to include spares inventory, repair, and disposition.
  • Provide supply support for ATS sites.
  • Identify pending obsolescence issues well in advance and take necessary steps to avoid adverse impacts to the KC-46 program training devices or supporting equipment.
  • Establish and maintain inventory control records for spares (investment and consumable), test equipment, tools, furnishings, and office equipment.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations based on maintenance and supply reports generated by the KC-46 ATS Management Information System. Provide recommendations for adjustments to the support inventory. Identify trends toward lower reliability and/or higher support costs.
  • Assume responsibility for budgeting, planning, organizing, and controlling activities in integrated logistics, inventory control, and associated administrative support.
  • Manage assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and supply/equipment repair vendors to obtain optimum support.
  • Assist in generation of the annual report of Government property.
  • Travel, as required.
Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business or 8 years experience in a commercial/military Logistics role performing the following duties:

  • Inventory Control
  • Maintenance/Logistics Related Databases
  • Familiar w/ Government contracts
  • Receiving
  • Issuing
  • Storing

Materials and Equipment Directly Used:

  • Computer.
  • Software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Aircrew Training Systems.
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated inventory control systems, inventory control policies, and procedures concerning accountability and responsibility, requirement determination, reparable processing procedures, and storage practices.
  • Possess an active SECRET security clearance.
