The Role

With strong analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize the workload, the Operations Technician II must interact successfully with internal departments to remove roadblocks and resolve issues on the behalf of all customers and escalate appropriately. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, managing and correcting customer service issues. You must have strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, leadership, and technical peers. Must be able to develop strong relationships with technical peers, and have strong interpersonal skills necessary to leave a positive impression on the customers.

Location and Schedule

This is an onsite position in San Juan Bautista, CA.

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 6:00AM - 3:00PM (PST) with possible holidays and weekends.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks associated with the maintenance and installation of company voice network service customers.
  • Train more junior Tech level personnel and have a working knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems are expected.
  • Efficiently and accurately manage customer initiated trouble tickets to resolution.
  • Escalate for higher order support from technical leadership, Tier III Technical teams, and Management.
  • Provide accurate and consistent customer communication during established intervals using phone, email, and ticketing notes.
  • Provide technical training to Tech I level personnel.
  • Troubleshoot, manage and correct customer service issues that are in an impaired or out of service condition.
  • Work with internal peer teams to assist with customer trouble resolution.
  • Follow all departmental processes and procedures.
  • Able to isolate 90% of customer reported trouble tickets within one hour.
  • Seek out both informal learning opportunities and formal coursework in an effort to enhance professional development.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • 2 years of college or technical school in electronics or telecommunications preferred.
  • 3 years of working experience.
  • Entry level experience and/or knowledge of at least one of the three major technical disciplines: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7) and TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and creative.
  • Work in a fast-paced and ever-changing 24x7 environment.
  • Ability to work extra hours, including weekends or holidays to support the operations staff.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$51,563 - $68,750 in these states: CA
