Job Summary (Primary function) The Assoc Dir, Biostatistical Programming is responsible for managing a group of Biostatistical programmers who develop statistical programs that process clinical data required for statistical analysis of Phase I - III clinical trials, and programmers that lead project teams. Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
- As a member of the biometrics leadership team, contribute to the short-term and long-term growth of the department.
- Assess resource needs and to ensure projects are adequately resourced.
- Responsible for hiring, mentoring, and managing a diverse programming team.
- Contribute to the long-term strategic leadership of a statistical programming unit that supports multiple drug development programs.
- Effectively operates within a matrix organization and with multi-disciplinary groups, demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills to contribute to a positive team environment.
- Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to establish and project timelines. Manage projects and resources in the bio-statistical programming group; oversee timely and quality delivery of assigned projects.
- Oversee and/or develop programs, macros, procedures and standards used to produce statistical results of clinical data.
- Ensure that all programming activities, outputs and documentation are consistent with ICH guidelines and are conducted in compliance with company SOPs and Industry guidelines.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in technical and project management within the bio-statistical programming department.
- Demonstrated ability to significantly contribute to department infrastructure and process improvements.
- Prior experience in a leadership role is preferred, but not required, to encourage a diverse range of candidates to apply.
- Must be able to effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, communication and project coordination skills.
- Motivated and able to work well independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including electronic submission standards.
- Good SAS programming skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Experience in data management, including familiarity with CDISC standards, is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in programming using SAS/Base/Macro/GRAPH in the biopharmaceutical and/or CRO industries is preferred, but not required. Candidates with equivalent skills and experience are encouraged to apply.
- A degree in a relevant field such as statistics, computer sciences, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
- Strong project management and team mentoring skills, with a focus on fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
- Ability to organize team work and prioritize and balance concurrent tasks and responsibilities.
- Good negotiation and issue resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability for onboarding, training, and supporting new team members.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional team projects across the clinical development organization.
