Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

Clinical Research Assistant performs a variety of tasks in support of clinical trials and assists in the performance of clinical trials related procedures to collect data on patients enrolled and/or seeking enrollment in clinical studies.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

Verify and/or correct research study information on source documents. Research queries and variances, and provide feedback to the site data collector
Input research study data into trial Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system, maintaining quality control for content, accuracy, and completeness
Prepare and maintain research study files
Compile, collate and submit study information within established deadlines
Assist in maintenance of regulatory documentation
Schedule subject visits and generate appropriate reports and documents for research subjects prior to visits
Processing of required lab specimens, labeling of vials, and accurately filling out requisitions for storage and/or shipment per the study protocol and packaging and shipment regulations
Perform various administrative support functions.

Job Requirements

General Requirements	* Certification in Clinical Trials Management or Clinical Research preferred
Work Experience	* Oncology and hematology related clinical trials experience preferred * Exposure to research preferred * Project management research preferred
Education	* BS/BA in life sciences or related field; OR Associates degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in a clinical environment or medical setting; e.g. clinical research coordinator, pharmacy tech, clinical laboratory; OR high school diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in a clinical environment or medical setting; e.g. clinical research coordinator, pharmacy tech, clinical laboratory * Master's degree health related field preferred
Specialized Knowledge and Skills	* Basic knowledge of clinical trials * In-depth knowledge of departmental, protocol and study-specific operating procedures, consent forms, and study schedules will be provided * Basic knowledge of medical terminology * Skilled in using MS Windows and Office applications such as Access, Outlook, Excel, and Word and computer data systems. * Excellent interpersonal skills. Thrives in a team-oriented environment with changing priorities * Participate in site monitoring and audit process. Occasional travel to offsite audit is needed. * Demonstrates ability to uses a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job
