Position Summary: Set up and/or operate: cut off saws, rip saws, moulders, glue reel, 3 axis cnc, Thermwood carvers, 5 axis Pade CNC, edge banding machine, tennon machine, abrasive sander/wide belt, panel saw. Also assist in off loading the prior listed machinery. Major Accountabilities/Critical Responsibilities: Accountabilities/responsibilities in order of importance or amount of time spent on the responsibilities. 1. Sets up and operates machines due to production needs 2. Examines frame ticket to determine what wood panels/parts are needed and quantity needed. Selects, installs, aligns,and adjusts cutterheads, forms, jigs needed to achieve proper quality tolerances guides, using hand tools. 3. Measures shaped stock to verify size and quantity needed is produced using rulers and/or tape measure 4. May also hold and push stock into cutterheads without aid of jig or guide. 5.Cut off saw, mark defective wood to be cut out with orange lumber marking crayon. Place cut parts on shop cart 6.Rip saw, read ticket to determine what quantity of parts and size are needed for production of that part. Place cut parts on shop cart 7. Glue reel, load parts on feed line to be glued, activate glue conveyor, remove part from conveyor and place into glue reel to be clamped. Continue this process until glue reel is filled and cycling around to be off loaded. Removed glued up panels and place on shop cart spreading wood shavings between to prevent from sticking 8. Abrasive sander/wide belt, adjust machine to desired thickness of panel , load belt with panels while paying close attention to volume loaded, remove parts from conveyor belt and place on shop cart. 9.Moulder, supervisor/lead will set up machine with proper cutting head and make needed adjustments. Load parts to be moulded onto feed and off load part as they exit moulder, checking for desired quality. Place parts on shop cart 10.Thermwood 3 axis, choose correct cut file to be ran via onboard PC. If needed, place pattern/form on bed of machine making sure to center/adjust form to meet desired results and make adjustments if needed by moving form on bed of CNC.Remove completed parts, inspect and place on shop cart. Keeping count of number of pieces produced. 11. Thermwood Carver, choose correct file via onboard PC, load wood into holders making sure they are plumb/level, bump tail stock with hammer to lock part in place, start machine and let it run program. Inspect parts coming off machine and stack on shop cart while keeping count of pieces produced. 12. Pade 5 Axis CNC, choose correct program to be ran via onboard PC, set up machine based on part being ran (may require changing clamps/holders ), test run machine to make sure any clearance issues are resolved/adjusted prior to running production, load part into holder and engage cnc to start, once cnc has completed part, remove and place on shop cart checking for desired quality. Keeping count of pieces produced. 13. Edge banding Machine, turn on heating element to start melting glue, once glue is hot then make sure of what size/color banding is needed. Load banding onto tray and feed into machine. Place part on feed belt making sure it is up against fence and stays against fence, as parts exit glue head/press inspect parts and place on shop cart. Keeping count of pieces produced 14.Tennon Machine, adjust feed belt to width of parts needing cut, load parts on feed belt, after cut parts will come off machine on opposite side, place machined parts on shop cart. 15. Panel Saw, choose correct cut file and load correct thickness/grade of plywood onto bed of machine. Start saw (safety panel will close to prevent hands from coming in contact with blade), place cut panels on shop cart |
