$26.35 to $28.99 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled technical work negotiating for the acquisition of property, easements, and rights-of-way needed for County highways, roads, and other construction projects.



REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) years of experience in real estate sales, appraisals, and/or acquisitions, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of government land acquisition experience PLUS must be able to successfully complete a Brevard County Right of Way and Easement Test, administered by the Land Acquisition Supervisor, with at least sixteen (16) out of twenty (20) questions answered correctly PLUS must complete all of the Brevard County Employee Development Phase I and Phase II classes and receive a passing score on each phase examination within eighteen (18) months of employment;OR two (2) years as a Brevard County Land Acquisition Specialist I PLUS successful completion of all of the Brevard County Employee Development Phase I and Phase II classes and receive a passing score on each of the phase examinationsPLUS successfully complete a Brevard County Right of Way and Easement Test, administered by the Land Acquisition Supervisor, with at least sixteen (16) out of twenty (20) questions answered correctly PLUS a current annual performance evaluation rating of 4.0 or higher, with no performance evaluation factors with a rating of a 1 or 2. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Title insurance closing experience is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a current State of Florida Real Estate Agents license and maintain the state-required continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain the license during the term of employment. Must place current real estate license in an inactive status with the State of Florida during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within sixty (60) days of employment, an active Florida Notary Public certification and maintain said certification in an active during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
