This position requires on-site EHS compliance auditing. This role uses Environmental, Health, & Safety expertise to ensure regulatory, compliance, and accreditation requirements are met as well as support operational excellence. In this position, the individual will be responsible for auditing of retail/client retail, home delivery, infusion, and specialty audit work and will complete approximately 4-8 on-site or on-site/virtual audits per month. Under minimum supervision, responsible for supporting the administration of safe and healthy working conditions for all employees. Investigates conditions that may affect employee health and comfort.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Serve as EHS compliance assessor for all pharmacy segments within a specified region (Approx. 65% of job responsibility)
  • Assist with the development, documentation and maintenance of environmental health and safety (EHS) programs (e.g. hazardous materials, emergency response plans) in compliance with Federal, State and Local legislation
  • Partner with External Consultant on inspections and instruct Consultant on requirements for industrial hygiene sampling
  • Review industrial hygiene sampling reporting and investigating to obtain data for use in determining sources of exposure
  • Acts as a representative responding to and maintaining records for OptumRx regulator programs (respirator protection, powered industrial trucks (PIT), safety committees, etc.)
  • Support location leaders in understanding their results and how to resolve findings. Educate and inform leaders on Optum Rx policies and practices as well as new regulations and practices
  • Performs other duties as directed

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of related experience and in-depth knowledge of the environment, health and safety regulations
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel (car, train, plane) up to 50% of the year
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associated Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Clean-Room, and government regulatory requirements and guidelines
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent credentials

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
