Tool & Die Maker

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a First Shift (6AM - 2:30PM) Tool & Die Maker based in Indianapolis, IN. This role will report directly to the Production Supervisor and work closely with several production teams. The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building and repairing customer machine shop tools.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $27/hr. - $36/hr. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Operate machines, perform advanced quality inspections, troubleshoot equipment
• Use precision measuring instruments for tool set-up, perform complex tool changes
• Use hand tools, operate lathes, grinders, milling/boring machines, etc.
• Design fixtures/jigs and templates to use as fabrication work aids
• Train and develop others, perform daily 5S housekeeping

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in machine shop Tool & Die trade

• Lean skills
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience
