Starkey is hiring a Sr Manager of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) at its global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. The Sr. Manager of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is a critical technical and strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing Starkey's advanced manufacturing strategy. This role oversees the AME team, which is chartered with identifying, developing, and integrating advanced process technologies and solutions that drive innovation, operational excellence, and scalability across the organization. The Senior Manager will lead cross-functional collaborations with R&D, Operations, and other business units, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical curiosity. This position requires a forward-thinking leader with strong vision, communication skills, and broad engineering expertise. The Senior Manager must demonstrate the ability to drive complex engineering initiatives, champion change, and scale technology solutions across global operations. - Direct complex engineering projects from concept to deployment, managing cross-functional teams and timelines.
- Prioritize AME project portfolio to meet business needs and strategic goals.
- Implement structured project governance, documentation standards, and metrics for success.
Continuous Improvement
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for complex manufacturing challenges.
- Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and problem-solving within the AME team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- 4-year degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing) required.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
- Minimum 5 years in Management leading technical team.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments preferred (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.).
- Proven track record of managing capital budgets and large-scale technology programs
Knowledge
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, PLCs, and custom equipment design.
- Knowledge of CAD (e.g., Creo), controls systems, and integration between hardware and software.
- Understanding materials, manufacturing processes, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of digital manufacturing tools and Industry 4.0 technologies is a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and Strategic Oversight
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and integration of new manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and smart factory solutions.
- Guide the design and deployment of new manufacturing processes, fixtures, and equipment.
- Evaluate new technologies for scalability, cost, manufacturability, and ROI.
- Champion exploration of emerging trends through vendor engagement, trade shows, research publications, and internal collaboration.
- Prioritize and execute innovation initiatives that improve quality, reduce costs, or increase throughput.
Process and Technology Innovation
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and integration of new manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and smart factory solutions.
- Guide the design and deployment of new manufacturing processes, fixtures, and equipment.
- Evaluate new technologies for scalability, cost, manufacturability, and ROI.
- Champion exploration of emerging trends through vendor engagement, trade shows, research publications, and internal collaboration.
- Prioritize and execute innovation initiatives that improve quality, reduce costs, or increase throughput.
Equipment & Fixture Management
- Oversee the design, build, and deployment of custom fixtures and production equipment across manufacturing sites.
- Standardize manufacturing tools and fixtures across the enterprise to improve performance, maintainability, and quality.
- Drive proactive maintenance planning and lifecycle management for manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
- Ensure all equipment and tools meet internal requirements, safety standards, and vendor specifications.
- Maintain complete documentation packages for all fixtures, processes, and custom equipment.
Manufacturing Support & Collaboration
- Provide senior-level engineering support for manufacturing operations, resolving issues related to tooling, process performance, and equipment.
- Collaborate with Design for Manufacturing teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, ensuring readiness of manufacturing systems and infrastructure.

Equipment Operation
- CAD tools (e.g., Creo), standard office software, hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and internally developed or purchased manufacturing systems.
Salary and Other Compensation: The target rate for this position is between $148,610 to $202,000/year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
