We are currently seeking a BIM Specialist to join our team at our Healthcare team in Tampa, FL.

Position Summary:

The Building Information Project (BIM) Coordinator performs complex and significant project-related tasks. They provide various Revit drafting functions for Engineering & Design staff made up of but not limited to Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) Engineers. This individual works with the staff of all disciplines to standardize BIM software across the project and is responsible for establishing, monitoring and enforcing BIM standards for that project. The role of the BIM Project Coordinator shall serve as the main point of contact for BIM related issues for the assigned project. In general, responsibilities should include the following:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Performs non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Work may involve areas lacking precedent.
  • Performs design calculations, prepares material and equipment specifications and provides preliminary sketches and notes for drawings.
  • Performs system design layout and sizing for assigned projects.
  • Responsible to coordinate the design with other disciplines, attends design coordination meetings with team members and client representatives.
  • Prepares electronically generated drawings with accuracy, neatness and speed, maintaining high quality and uniform standards of lines and lettering.
  • Informs the senior designer and engineer of technical challenges and any design work beyond his or her capabilities.
  • Learns to review shop drawings, record changes and keeps all disciples informed of details and schedules.
  • Coordinates the contract documents with the construction personnel and participates (under supervision) in site inspections during construction as required.
  • Assists in field data collection and/or field system verification.
  • Assists in the supervision of drafters assigned to a project.
  • Assists in the review and adjustment to project specifications to fit project requirements.
  • Assists in the studies and selection of equipment to fit the project design.
  • Actively participates in professional organizations where the technical reputation and image of the firm may be enhanced.


Key Requirements:



  • 3 + years of professional experience utilizing Revit
  • Previous consulting engineering experience in multiple engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and low voltage special systems.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk products (or comparable competitive products) is essential
  • Knowledge of additional BIM related software is a plus


Education & Certifications:



  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; plus three to five years of applicable practical design experience of similar projects.

  • Obtain/maintain Autodesk Professional Certification for AutoCAD, Revit Architecture and Revit MEP
