We are looking for aSenior Advisor, Project Controlsfor the development and maintenance of integrated studies and execution project schedules, and project reporting on a weekly and monthly cadence. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive understanding and application of project processes and Project Controls practices which include principals of planning, scheduling, risk/change management, cost/schedule integration and performance measurement.

In this role, you will contribute through applying technical/professional knowledge to solve complex problems and recommend solutions. You will also contribute to process improvements. You will work independently with minimal guidance and provide informal assistance to less experienced staff. You will be a critical member of an integrated project controls team. Reporting to the Superintendent, Development Project Controls, you will:

  • Create, maintain and report on the project schedules.
  • Maintain the integrity of integrated project schedules.
  • Support weekly/monthly schedule reporting.
  • Lead schedule development and monitoring for assigned areas.
  • Analyze and challenge constructability of the plan and schedules.
  • Identify improvement opportunities for streamlining work process.
  • Support compliance with standardized processes, systems and tools.
  • Integrate Contractor, Constructor and Vendor schedules into a master schedule
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key contracting and other project planning stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the cost engineering and estimating groups to ensure critical cost loading and integration of schedules.
  • Support change control within approved systems/processes for assigned projects.
  • Proactively analyze and report implications of changes to plan and schedule.
  • Provide technical support to project stakeholders.

What you'll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Proven experience in cross-functional stakeholder engagement
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and external vendors and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Primavera P6 software.
  • Experience in project planning/scheduling in an industrial and/or construction environment.
  • Experience with integrating contractor schedules into a master project schedule.
  • Experience cost and resource-loading P6 schedules and integrating with cost systems.

Where you'll be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
